Are you still working? Is your company in danger of filing for bankruptcy? Do you have enough money put aside to pay the bills for the next 3 months if you are laid off? What are the options available to you? If you are considering starting a home based business opportunity, the internet is full of possibilities, however, there are two important issues to look at.
Do you want to make money on line working for someone else or are you adventurous and want to home based business opportunity? Start off by researching some areas that you either have some knowledge about or interest in on Google. If your interest in is independence and you are intrigued by the home based business opportunity idea, perhaps you should consider an affiliate program.
Many people have looked at and started with affiliate programs as a home based business opportunity. There is little to no capital expense involved and the generally, the harder you work, the more you’ll earn. However, success and failure in affiliate programs will depend on the type of choices you make after much consideration of the factors involved in this business. It will also help if you treat your affiliate program as a real home based business opportunity, which means it will require a lot of work, maintenance and follow up.
Try to translate your efforts into figures. Wouldn’t you rather be paid $1 for every subscriber you find than 60 cents for every five you attract? Don’t waste time on affiliate programs that offer peanuts for your home based business opportunity. Look for affiliate programs that give high commissions. Depending on which program you join, you could expect from as little as 30% to 70%.
The availability of the market and their willingness to buy or participate in the program is also an important consideration. Many products have been launched in the past that failed miserably because the market just wasn’t around. In other words, the company didn’t do their market research to determine the viability of the products. Prior to getting started in any business, I always ask myself one fundamental question. As a customer, would I buy the product at the retail price. If yes, then I do more research and if no, then onto another company to review.
If you look at the figures reported from affiliate marketing programs; over $6 billion in commissions in 2006 alone, nearly twice the figure during the past year, you probably would think twice about not joining. There is a variety of products covered by these programs, from retail to gaming to telecoms and publishing to personal finance and education.
I have not seen many people get really wealthy from an affiliate program because normally the cost is so low and the return is equally low. However, you can with a few of them make some good part time income. To build a home based business opportunity, I would really look to network marketing where the investment is more, but so are the financial rewards.
If you have been on the MLM train for awhile and are tired of building the traditional and outdated ways, then consider buying customers. Yes, there is one company that I am aware, that through a co-operative marketing program, you can buy their customers rights. In other words, they do all the advertising, shipping the products, and following up with the customers to determine how satisfied they are. When the customer re-orders, you get paid a commission from their order. It’s like having stock in a company, except the stock is the customer.
Remember, the foundation of any successful business is having lots of customers. If you want a successful home based business opportunity, the same rules apply. If you have lots of repeat customers, you make money.
